ePrompter is a free tool that can let you check many types of email account that would normally require you to log into them, such as AOL email, Hotmail, Yahoo! FastCheck is a sophisticated free tool that integrates closely with Fastmail.fm's email service. FastCheck will check any number of IMAP accounts and IMAP folders, scanning periodically for new mail, and will alert you as soon as new mail arrives. The package has a small "footprint" and can be run from a floppy disk.
IzySoft offers two tools to help you get more out of your Hotmail account. POP3Hot will enable you to download email from your Hotmail inbox into your favorite POP3-supporting email client. You can also compose email to be sent via Hotmail from within your email application, and manage multiple Hotmail accounts in a single inbox. IzyMail is a more powerful tool, which adds support for folders other than the Inbox and gives you IMAP-based access to your Hotmail account. POP3Hot works on Windows 98 and Windows ME; IzyMail works on most versions of Windows. POP Peeper is a free tool that runs under Microsoft Windows. It alerts users to new email in their POP3, Hotmail, MSN or Yahoo! email accounts. POP Peeper can also be used to read/delete email, and the package supports HTML-format email as well as text mail. POP Peeper is freeware.
